Golder Associates is offering three Mining Geology and Grade Control courses in 2004. These courses have set the standard for mining geology and grade control courses worldwide. Over 400 mining professionals have attended these practical courses, which provide a comprehensive review of methods used to improve ore control and profitability in a broad range of mining operations and commodities.

This is because that of all underground openings, pressure tunnels provide the greatest design challenges. Failure to understand and address the technical issues of pressure tunnel design often leads to excessive
leakage, water loss, slope failures and/or groundwater contamination.

The understanding necessary to successfully design pressure tunnels is rare. The founder of modern geotechnical engineering said "There are very few engineers who are thoroughly familiar with the theory and practise of pressure tunnels..." Golder Associates is among these few engineers, as we specialise in all the technologies that are essential to the design of pressure tunnels and have experience in applying these technologies.
